Undecided Which Material to Use for Your Countertops? Part One
What Are the Pros and Cons of Marble and Granite Countertops?
Marble and granite are two of the more common choices that homeowners choose; however, there are plenty of other choices available. Slate, for instance, can be more effective for kitchen applications. It is unremarkable in appearance and is usually only available in either black or grey color.
It is heat resistant, which means homeowners are able to place a hot pot or pan on it, without fear of damaging it. However, slate is not scratch or dent resistant, so cutting anything on it is not recommended. This is where granite or marble come into the picture, even though they are slightly more expensive, the positive sides to these two materials outweigh slate.
